We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use the app, and information from third parties. Information you provide: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to add. During onboarding, you provide your Palate DNA preferences through the Sensory Sliders. When you interact with the app — swiping on dishes, saving restaurants, rating meals — we collect those interactions. Information collected automatically: We collect usage data including which features you use, how long you spend in the app, and the device and operating system you're using. We do not collect precise location data unless you explicitly grant permission, and we never collect location data in the background. Information from third parties: If you sign in using a third-party service (such as Apple Sign In), we receive basic profile information from that service as permitted by your privacy settings there.

We use the information we collect to: • Build and continuously improve your Palate DNA profile • Generate Flavor Twin match scores and restaurant recommendations • Operate and improve the Taste Twins service • Send you transactional communications (account confirmations, waitlist updates) • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse We do not use your data to serve you third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Your palate data is used exclusively to improve your experience within Taste Twins.

We share your information only in the following circumstances: With other users: Your public profile (display name, Palate DNA summary, and Flavor Twin match score) is visible to other Taste Twins users. You can control the visibility of your profile in your account settings. With service providers: We share information with vendors who help us operate the service — cloud infrastructure, analytics, and customer support tools. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us. For legal reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process. In a business transfer: If Taste Twins is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We will never share your Palate DNA data or individual dish interaction history with restaurants, food brands, or advertisers.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons. Anonymised, aggregated data (e.g., aggregate palate trend data across all users) may be retained indefinitely and is not subject to deletion requests.

We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for all data in transit, and AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest. We conduct regular security audits and penetration tests. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: • Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. • Correction: You can update or correct inaccurate data through the app's Settings screen. • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. • Portability: You can request an export of your Palate DNA data in a machine-readable format. • Objection: You can object to certain types of processing, including profiling for marketing purposes. Taste Twins is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by sending an email to the address associated with your account or by displaying a prominent notice in the app. Your continued use of Taste Twins after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
